### Firmware version 1.5

**Release date:** \
14 May 2026

* 🆕 NEW [Device-to-device (D2D) radio communication](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/device-to-device-communication-d2d.md#set-d2d-device-credentials) has been implemented.
* Added [radio commands to manage D2D communication](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/device-to-device-communication-d2d.md#set-d2d-device-credentials).
* Added a [radio command to flip the relay's state](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/relay-state.md#flip-relay-state).
* Improved the functionality of device [restart ](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/restart-device.md)command to account for the received downlink type (confirmed or unconfirmed).
* Added a random delay of 0–15 seconds for the radio join procedure and keep-alive uplinks.
* Improved the [radio watchdog](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/network-related-settings.md#communication-watch-dog) functionality.

### Firmware version 1.4

**Release date:** \
20 March 2025

* Fixed bug - the radio does not reset when the button is pressed while the radio is busy.
* Fixed bug - relay turning on for a short time when overheating protection is triggered and the device is restarted.
* Fixed bug - incorrect operation of the LED indication when switching between on and off continuous indication mode.
* Fixed bug - the relay state is not restored when the overvoltage protection is restored.
* NEW - functionality for relay timer and radio [command](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/relay-state.md#relay-timer-in-milliseconds) for timer setting.
* NEW - functionality and radio [command](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/relay-state.md#relay-state-change-reason) to get the reason for changing the relay state.
* The default overheat protection trigger limit has been changed from 95°C to 85°C.
* Overvoltage protection parameters have been changed: trigger threshold from 245V to 250V; recovery threshold from 240V to 245V.
* The overpower protection lower limit changed from 100W to 20W, and a 300W upper limit was added for DC voltage.

### Firmware version 1.3

**Release date:** \
04 November 2024

* NEW - the device now can initiate a new join procedure either via the [Watch Dog](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/network-related-settings.md#communication-watch-dog) timer expiring, or manually by **holding the button for 10s**. This is new in the sense that it does not power cycle the device, thus not causing the connected appliance to be turned OFF and ON.
* NEW - command to remotely power cycle the device - [A5](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/restart-device.md).
* NEW - A flag for negative temperature has been added to the [keep-alive](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/keep-alive.md) packet and to events for recovering [overcurrent](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/protections.md#overcurrent-recovery-event) and [overpower](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/protections.md#overpower-recovery-event) protection.
* Added functionality to calculate current sensor error and used in overcurrent and overpower protection.
* [Overvoltage protection](/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/mclimate-16aspm-device-communication-protocol/protections.md#overvoltage-thresholds) parameters have been changed: trigger threshold from 275V to 245V; recovery threshold from 250V to 240V; threshold maximum range from 300V to 250V.
* Bug fix - negative temperatures (Celsius) were not interpreted correctly.
* Bug fix - LED indication incorrect behavior.

### Firmware version 1.2

**Release date:** \
24 September 2024

* Fixed a bug related to writing the accumulated energy in the EEPROM memory.

### Firmware version 1.1

**Release date:** \
23 September 2024

* NEW - Mechanism to store the energy in long-term (EEPROM) memory.
* NEW - Added functionality to detect the type (DC or AC) of the voltage and respond accordingly. The device now accurately measures both AC and DC voltage, current and accumulated energy.
* NEW - when a protection event occurs the the event uplink is sent as a confirmed message and it will be periodically sent until an acknowledgement that it has been received by the server is received by the device.
* NEW - when the device recovers from a protection even it sends the corresponding uplink message now.
* Changed default overheating protection limits from 90 - 60°C to 95 - 70°C.
* Holding the button for 10s resets the device
* Added functionality and radio commands "SET"/"GET" the state of the relay after overheating recovery (choose whether to retain previous state or start in a closed state every time).
* Added radio command to reset the energy count to zero.

### Firmware version 1.0

**Release date:** \
11 September 2024

* Initial firmware release

# Agent Instructions
This documentation is published with GitBook. GitBook is the documentation platform designed so that both humans and AI agents can read, navigate, and reason over technical content effectively. Learn more at gitbook.com.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.mclimate.eu/mclimate-lorawan-devices/devices/mclimate-16a-switch-and-power-meter-lorawan-16aspm/release-notes.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
