Turn ON/OFF schedule profiles

The ON/OFF schedule profiles work with MClimate device that have only two states, ON and OFF, like the 16ASPM and 16ADS.

The ON/OFF profile creation page is separated in two parts:

  • Create - what the profile would look like

  • Manage devices - which devices the profile would apply to

Let's look into each section in detail.

Create

You are presented with all parameters that can be adjusted in the creation screen. You can edit all of these later on, it is fully customizable.

General Settings

Start by entering a name for your schedule profile and choose if it is Globally visible (turned on by default).

If a profile is not Globally visible, only users with sufficient privileges can access it for example, a tenant on a room level would not be able to interact with a building-wide ON/OFF schedule profile.

Set the Default boost time (5 minutes), a setting that is especially important if you are managing a large building.

If you have an ON/OFF schedule profile in effect that is applied to a device, it controls its state, however you can choose to ignore it. In case you manually change the state the device from the one under the current schedule timeslot, it will receive a boost that will overrule the state as per the schedule profile, for a period of time called Boost time.

For example if you are in an ON/OFF schedule profile slot where the state is OFF, but you need your device to be ON you can adjust it, but it will only be in effect for the Boost time (default is 5 minutes). Thus the state will change to ON for 5 minutes and revert to OFF after.

You can also set the visibility of the profile, the drop down menu mirrors the building space structure and you can assign the schedule profile to any level.

Schedule

This is where you create the actual schedule profile time/state zones.

You are presented with a text box for the start and end time ranges in addition to a state slider (left-OFF, right-ON). Once you have entered your desired time range and state, click on the Add a new time slot button and you will create it. Do this for as many intervals as you require depending on your schedule profile requirements.

The Time slot period goes from 00:00 to 24:00 (a single day), thus if you want a period that extends from the evening throughout the night and into the morning you would have to create two periods - Evening to Midnight, Midnight to Morning. Check the image below for an example.

Once you have entered the desired time slots your schedule profile will be visible in the Schedule area as a colored chart (representing what state the device will be in in the respective timeslot).

You can further edit/remove a timeslot via the pen/bin button.

Editing a timeslot

A good strategy if your desired ON/OFF schedule profile has identical or similar setting on a per day basis is to clone one day over one or more subsequent ones. This can be done by selecting it an clicking on the icon next to the text. This will open up a list of the week days with check boxes where you can select which days you want to clone the selected one over. Pressing on the "Done" button populates your selection.

Cloning a day over the week

Don't forget to click on the "Create" button at the bottom of the screen to implement the changes you made. Your profile should be visible in the Schedule profiles section now, showing the colored chart, the assigned building entity and number of devices it has been applied to, for quick reference. You can click on it and adjust any of the aforementioned settings at any time.

Manage devices

In order for an ON/OFF schedule profile to take effect it has to be assigned to one or more devices. You can do this in the Manage devices section of ON/OFF schedule profile itself.

Simply select the devices you want to apply it to from the column on the left (use the check boxes) and press on the arrow key pointing to the right.

Adding devices to an ON/OFF schedule profile

This will send the selected devices to the right table, indicating that you have assigned the profile to them. Once you press on the "Send" button the profile will take effect and they will start adjusting their behavior.

Devices assigned to an ON/OFF schedule profile

You can move a device/s back to the left in a similar manner, which will disable the profile for this device/s. You can Filter or Search for a device to easily find it.

You can also assign a profile to a device from its ON/OF schedule profile screen, where the currently selected profile will be displayed.
